A locked feature means your current plan or sign-in state lacks the entitlement, not that the feature is broken. Locks always come with an explanation of what unlocks them.
Where it appears #
Locks appear on plan-gated workflows across research, portfolio, alerts and export features, usually with an upgrade or sign-in explanation in place of the content.
Step-by-step workflow #
1. Read the lock explanation. 2. Confirm you are signed in. 3. Open Account to review the active plan and its entitlements. 4. If you recently upgraded, reload once so the new entitlement is picked up. 5. If a feature your plan includes stays locked, report it through Feedback with your plan name and the page.
Worked example #
A Free-plan user can see a Pro-only workflow with an upgrade explanation while all public research keeps working. Upgrading changes access to the workflow, not the underlying market evidence.
How to interpret the result #
Locked is an entitlement state, unavailable is an evidence state, and the two must not be confused: upgrading never creates market data that does not exist.
Limitations and common mistakes #
A plan badge is not a quality score. Billing changes can take a moment to propagate, and regional billing products can differ.
Market-specific differences #
Billing products, taxes and payment providers vary by country; entitlement behaviour is otherwise consistent across markets.
