Divide the exact listing price by EPS on the disclosed trailing, forward or other period basis. A non-positive or unavailable denominator requires qualified interpretation rather than a fabricated ratio.

Ejemplo práctico

Illustrative only: a price of CU 200 divided by trailing EPS of CU 10 gives trailing P/E of 20×; forward EPS would produce a separately labelled result.

A higher or lower Price-to-earnings ratio value is descriptive, not automatically good or bad. Meaning depends on the instrument, comparison period, method and related evidence.
