Privacy controls explain account and analytics data use. Account deletion is a deliberate owner request that removes data according to the published process and cannot be treated like ordinary sign-out.
Where it appears #
Use Privacy preferences, Account/Profile export, Account deletion and the canonical Privacy page.
Step-by-step workflow #
1. Review privacy categories. 2. Choose analytics/advertising consent. 3. Export data if needed. 4. Review deletion consequences. 5. Reauthenticate/confirm when required. 6. Submit only when ready.
Worked example #
Declining analytics changes optional measurement consent but does not delete a signed-in portfolio. Submitting confirmed account deletion is a separate action.
How to interpret the result #
Enabled/disabled consent describes collection permission. Pending deletion is not completed deletion. An unavailable export should be retried or supported, never assumed empty.
Limitations and common mistakes #
Deletion can be difficult to recover. Do not share exports or identity details casually, and do not confuse clearing local recent items with deleting server-owned data.
Market-specific differences #
Privacy rights, retention duties and age/consent rules vary by jurisdiction. The current Privacy and Terms pages govern the applicable process.
